RESUME BUILDER REDESIGN
UX + INTERACTION + USER TESTING + PROTOTYPing
The resume builder redesign project was an exploratory project that allowed me to create a variety of prototypes and interactions and test their performance. I created all the wireframes, prototypes, and interactions for the builder as well as scripted and ran all user testing on the project.
RECRUITMENT TOOL REDESIGN
UX + INTERACTION + USER TESTING + PROTOTYPing
Mighty Recruiter helps employers source and recruit candidates for their open positions. I developed all the wireframes and interactions for each project including Candidate Management, Interview Scheduling, and a Dashboard.
EU FOUNDATIONAL RESEARCH
Research + SYNTHESIS
I packed my bags and headed to Europe to participate in home visits with a research partner. Over 5 weeks we conducted 24 home visits to see how people in Germany and France prepare their documents and search for jobs.
CLIMBR APPLICATION
UX + Interaction + Visual Design
The CLIMBR application is a side project I am working on to help improve my rock climbing skills. I wanted to design something that I would use and that focuses on proper and effective training.
About Me
Hi, I’m Alex, welcome to my portfolio! I have 5+ years as a UX/Interaction Designer and want to continue to grow as a designer and a person. I’m fascinated by how people interact with technology as well as the world around them. I enjoy collaborating with colleagues to create delightful experiences that users want to engage with.
When I am not solving problems on my computer, you can find me rock climbing, traveling, hiking, taking photos, and when the season is right… snowboarding.
As a Designer, I want to…
I want to challenge assumptions with a user-centered design approach. Using research, ideation, rapid prototyping, and testing I aim to create experiences that delight users from start to finish.
My Design Process
01. Empathize
–
Getting a deep understanding of who is using a product or feature is crucial to designing a quality user experience. Knowing the user gives great insight into what makes them do the things they do, and how we might provide value.
02. DEFINE
–
Defining the problem the organization is trying to solve, and understanding the user goals, as well as, the business goals.
03.IDEATE
–
Getting the team together to brainstorm will help bring more voices to the table. This will ensure all ideas get heard and we don’t miss out on opportunities. This step will start to bring ideas to life as we move into wireframing.
04. PROTOTYPE
–
Creating prototypes to help users and stakeholders understand how the product will behave when actions are taken.
05. TEST
–
Validating assumptions is a crucial component of the design process. I find it essential to test all the concepts and ideas I have as well as the overall usability of the flow and its interaction.
06. repeat
–
Once testing was complete and we analyzed the feedback, I make iterations to the design and repeat the testing process.
